A Historic edition across three countries

The FIFA World Cup 2026 will make history as the first edition jointly hosted by three countries: the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The tournament will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, with matches held in 16 host cities across the three nations.

This edition will also be the first to feature 48 national teams, expanding from the traditional 32-team format. Teams will be divided into 12 groups of four, with the top two from each group, along with the eight best third-placed teams, advancing to a 32-team knockout stage.

The opening match is set to take place at Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca, making it the first stadium to host three World Cups. The grand final is scheduled for July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
